You don’t need Sky Broadband to use Sky Q – it’ll still work if you’re with another provider – but if you bundle up, you get the new Sky Hub router.

Does Sky Q box need to be connected to router?
Go to Settings, Setup, Network, Advanced Settings and select the ‘Connect to your router using a wired connection’ option. If you have a Sky Q Hub, you’ll be asked if you want to use your box as a Wi-Fi hotspot. If you don’t have a Sky Q Hub, your box’s wireless connection will be disconnected.
Can I have Sky TV and Virgin Broadband?
If you have a Sky Broadband Superfast package with Sky, you can get faster speeds with Virgin Media. Basically if it’s really fast broadband you want, you need Virgin. However, many people may prefer Sky due to its TV packages. All Sky TV customers get Sky Entertainment and you can add on box sets, movies and sports.
Can I use my old Sky Box with Sky Q?
When Sky Q first came out this was the only option, but you can have one satellite dish feeding your Sky Q box and another feeding all of your Sky and Freesat boxes. You many need to choose this option if you used to have a Octo LNB feeding multiple satellite points around your property that you want to keep.
Does Sky Q booster WIFI?
The Sky Booster, otherwise known as the Sky Wireless Booster, increases and improves your existing broadband router’s signal. Sold and supplied by Sky for Sky broadband and Sky Q customers, the Booster is a small white plastic box. It connects to your router through WPS (Wi-Fi Protected Setup).
