Caller ID is a feature that must be added to your phone line.
It is available in most areas and can be purchased for a monthly fee.
To use this feature, you need a Caller ID-enabled phone.
Or, if you don’t have one of those, you can attach a standalone Caller ID box.
Is there a charge for caller ID?
There is usually a one-time start-up fee and small monthly fee ($3-$10 per month depending on other services you subscribe to) for the service, but it is well worth the money. If you have a business line, your phone costs may be tax-deductible, including the cost of having caller ID services.
Is Caller ID free on landlines?
Unfortunately, landline service providers do not offer free caller ID.
How do I turn on Caller ID on my landline?
Dial *06 to turn on display of your Caller ID information on all outgoing calls. Dial *67 and then enter the phone number you want to call to turn off display of your Caller ID information for just that one call. Caller ID is turned back on once you complete your call.
How do you use caller ID?
Note: Calls to 800 numbers and 911 won’t use Caller ID Blocking.
How do I block Caller ID for a specific call?
- Enter *67.
- Enter the number you wish to call (including area code).
- Tap Call. The words “Private,” “Anonymous,” or some other indicator will appear on the recipient’s phone instead of your mobile number.
